Watashi no Koibito Review and Thoughts

Watashi no Koibito (My lover) by Sakisaka Io
[Watashi no = my, Koibito = lover]

Genre: Romance, Family, Comedy (there are moments), Drama, Shoujo, School life

Status: Completed

Chapters: 8

Synopsis:
Emi has a pretty sister that gets many confessions. One day, Emi received a call on their telephone and it's a confession to her sister. Instead of answering, she hanged up. Coincidentally (nooo, it's destiny! (^ะท^)-☆), he met the guy and he's the same class as hers.

Illustration: ★★★
The illustrations are not exceptional.  When Emi changed her hairstyle, I didn't recognize her! I thought it was her sister. (T ^ T) Maybe, I'm just stupid. But it's good though!! I love how the mangaka draws the tears when it's about to fall. Also the illustrations aren't crowded so it's easy to read. Junta isn't attractive for me but who cares, I still love it. These are examples! I removed the dialogues for you. (^.^)
This is from the extra chapters.

It's not ugly like my drawings. Who am I to compare my drawings to an amazing mangaka? (._.) I can only draw stickmans. Actually, I'm a fan of Sakisaka Io's works like Strobe Edge! And since she's just starting the time she illustrated Watashi no Koibito, the illustrations are not as excellent like Strobe Edge and Ao Haru Ride,

Plot: ★★★
When I saw it at first, it didn't catch my attention, because the mangaka's style isn't my favorite (I have favoritism (^_^)v so I skipped it (regretssss), but yesterday I stumbled upon it. Unconsciously (and because I don't have anymore mangas to read), I read the synopsis and it really catched my attention. One thing is because it's not usual, getting a confession that is supposedly for your sister and instead of telling it to her, you hung up. Who would do that? Not me, for sure. I will tell it to my sister immediately. I don't know why the guy continued to confess even though he doesn't know if it's Emi's sister who is on the phone. What if it was her mother? I can't imagine the embarrassment! Or maybe it would have been Emi's mother and Junta love story. Ahaha~ (^∇^)(disturbingg) Anyway, I was curious what was going to happen so I continued reading it. Andddd I had no regrets reading it, because it doesn't only tackles romance but also sister relationship and other things. Personally, I can relate to it. I'm not attractive like my sister, and she always gets compliments I'm just a potato!! ( ;  ; )The characters are very relatable tho~ And because I watch too much manga and dramas, I was able to predict some of the scenes. But I LOVE THE ENDING SO MUCH. May be, it could have been better if the mangaka added some scenes before it that clearly shows Junta's feelings. It was not enough, okay?

Recommend? Yes if you like a short manga that will make you smile and cry. (yuzz I cried) And besides, it's a work of Sakisaka Io!!!
